Location of immersion: Slope of Coral Garden Hill

position at beginning of dive: 38 29,276´ N; 28 37,143´ W

time of dive: 13:10 – 17:05

position at end of dive: 38 29,355´ N; 28 37,283´ W

 

Sampling of four different species of live corals (acanthogorgia, dendrophyllia, and others) including 50 litres of surrounding water.

Corals are to be maintained alive and observed in DOP´s coral aquariums. At a later stage, they are to undergo several experiments.

Observation and video documentation in 280 metres of depth of a crab (Paramola cuvieri), as large as 1.20m in width, carrying a gorgonian (aconthogorgia).

Testing of newly acquired USBL positioning system. Nice positioning data received during whole dive!

Maximum depth reached: 400 metres.
