Location of immersion: Slope of Squid Hill, western part

position at beginning of dive: 38 29,181´ N; 28 36,608´ W

time of dive: 11:50 – 15:45

position at end of dive: 38 29,687´ N; 28 36,804´ W

Deployment of second panel for settlement experiment at „slope squid hill“ position, panel depth: 450 metres. Sampling of two oysters. Sampling of a black coral with stylasterid and ballanus (deep water species) on it.

Than moving north up the slope. Video documentation throughout dive.

Observations:

giant oyster wall, deep water squid (loligo forbesi) in 400 m of depth, many stylasterids (360m depth), partly entangled by fishing lines (or growing on fishing lines), hunting conger eel.

Maximum depth reached: 490 metres.
