Project on Bioerosion: Monitoring Carbonate Production and Degradation (Azores, Portugal)

Location of immersion: Canal Faial-Pico, southern part

position at beginning of dive:

38 30,541´ N; 28 36,544´ W

 

time of dive: 15:30 – 17:50

position at end of dive: same as initial

recovery of experimental panel (bioerosion experiment) in 150 metres of depth. Panel has been down during 2 years. Photo and video documentation of surroundings and a nearby rock. Close-up in situ documentation of panel.

Observations: different species of corals, moray, rockfish, hair starfish.

 Maximum depth reached: 150 metres.
